What we do

We work with NHS Lothian and third sector partners to develop and deliver greenspace improvements and activities for patients, staff and communities. Our mission is to make the most of the NHS estate and community greenspaces to improve health, wellbeing and climate resilience.

We do this through:

  • Learning: working with range of people to understand what green health activities currently exist, and what the potential is
  • Connecting: build networks of people and organisations that deliver greenspace enhancements and activities
  • Advising: provide information and advice to NHS staff and partners to make the most of our greenspaces
  • Delivering: support the development and delivery of greenspace enhancements and green activity programmes
  • Communicating: clearly articulate the benefits and challenges for green health

Who we work with

We focus on those who can most benefit from access to green health projects and activities. This means that we often work with mental health services and areas that have long stay patients. In communities we are focused on reducing health inequalities and work with organisations that share our intention to improve health for those most in need.
