Saining Straw is a traditional Scottish activity which uses straw, water and iron to remove negative influences and bring luck and prosperity to an area.

Help us to prepare the garden for the winter ahead by saining straw, making corn dollies and leaving positive wishes for the garden and all who enter it. We’ll also learn about some other seasonal folklore and take time to relax and enjoy the garden with a hot drink

As with all our events this sessions is aimed at adults but families with accompanied children are welcome.

Join us to try out some traditional seasonal activities to bring luck and good fortune to the Walled Garden ahead of winter

This event is free thanks to support from the NHS Lothian Charity and the National Lottery Community Fund. Working together to improve health and wellbeing across Lothian.
