Mass Spring Bulb Planting

November 1, 2024 - November 30, 2024 / Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh: Grass at the corner of Old Dalkeith Road and Little France Crescent

We need your help to plant 4,000 crocus bulbs alongside the wellbeing walk.

This will provide a pop of colour in early spring and much-needed nectar for bees. If you can spare 20 minutes, want some fresh air, and want to do your bit for wildlife, please join us. No booking is necessary but you will need to wrap up warm and wear sturdy shoes, we will supply gloves and tools.

No – we appreciate people are working in the hospital so we will help you and your clothes stay clean in line with the NHS uniform policy. We will provide aprons to protect your clothes and gloves to protect your hands. All our activities will promote good hygiene and there are sinks nearby to wash your hands.

It is Scotland after all so we can’t let the weather stop us. Please come dressed for the weather on the day and wear suitable outdoor shoes. If it is raining we will be still be running the activity but if it is really wild we may need a plan B so contact [email protected] to check.

No – our activities are designed for everyone to take part and we will give you the skills and equipment you need to do it.

We run session for staff, patients and both, so check on the event listing. We also aim to make our activities as inclusive as possible and will tailor them to whoever turns up on the day.
