Join Beth, our Nature and Wellbeing Officer, for a range of nature-based activities to support your health and wellbeing.

Our timetables below outline the different staff, patient and volunteer activities on offer.

| 6,13,27 April | Growing Space: drop-in gardening sessions | Everyone | 12pm – 2pm (Drop in) | Location is between the Inverleith Building and Dialysis Unit, accessed either by going down the steps from Hospital Main Drive or take the scenic route by walking through Amanda’s Garden, Maggies Garden and across the lower part of carpark 4. Google maps pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/BcAxaC2Kago6Hvkk9 | Come along to help with growing herbs, flowers and vegetables onsite – or to get some advice about your own garden, allotment, balcony or windowsill. You’ll also discover a lovely seating area at the hospital that’s filled with bird song and the occasional frog visitor! |
| 31st March 8,15,22,29 April | Noticing Nature Walks | All staff and outpatients | 12:30am – 1pm | Outside Wellbeing Wing, opposite Turner House: https://maps.app.goo.gl/SqjsHjL79v7GMucv8 | Guided nature walks to appreciate seasonal highlights in the hospital grounds and nearby greenspaces. Get some fresh air, exercise and connect with nature. Route and length can be adjusted to suit peoples’ needs on the day. |
| 24 April | Take Part in the City Nature Challenge! | All staff welcome | 11am – 3pm (drop-in) | Anne Ferguson Building Foyer | The City Nature Challenge is an international effort for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities. Knowing about the species in our cities and where they are helps us study and protect them. Come along to find out how to get involved by photographing as much wildlife as you can over the weekend – no experience needed!
