NHS Lothian Charity is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nature Rehabilitation Ranger to join their innovative Green Health team. The role offers the chance to deliver engaging programmes and activities that connect patients, visitors, staff and the local community with the healing power of nature, while also promoting accessibility and biodiversity.

The role is based at the Astley Ainslie Hospital, known for its rich history of using nature for healing, as well as the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, another key NHS Lothian site.

The Charity is looking for someone who can collaborate and engage, contribute to the stewardship of mature habitats, and foster a greener, healthier future for all.

Ian Mackenzie, Green Health Programme Manager at NHS Lothian Charity, said:

We’re really excited about this new role and are looking for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, has experience in engaging with the community, and has the desire and motivation to make a lasting difference. A strong background in environmental conservation or a related field is important to be able to offer expert advice to the teams on site about nature-based health programmes and how to create a thriving natural environment that helps us meet our sustainability goals and commitments.

“So, if you, or someone you know, dreams of a career where you can protect and enhance nature somewhere unexpected, make a real difference to people and the planet, and be part of a passionate team dedicated to unlocking the potential of our natural health service, then I would urge you to get in touch.”
